Product Description

This is our largest mount and tripod. It is manufactured in our Auburn, California shop using 6061-t6 aluminum, stainless steel and full thickness hardwood (maple or walnut). Each axis uses both stainless roller bearings and Teflon thrust bearings offering extremely rigid yet butter smooth movement. Delrin faced aluminum clamping rings allow the user to set tension and hold telescopes in place at any angle. One can tighten the mount solid but the real joy comes from having it loose enough to move effortlessly with the slightest push, yet tight enough that it stops when and where you want it.

Find out why users say, “once you go here, you never want to go back.” See what a real American mount can be made to do. Enjoy the heavens with a mount that literally disappears - allowing you to float from one object to the next.

This is a solid and smooth Isostatic mount providing a substantial  improvement over the smaller, lighter dual mount units on the market. The ergonomics, bearings, load capacity and smoothness of the M150 is unsurpassed. The new M150 head weighs only 17 pounds but has a 45 pound capacity with adjustment and locking ability in both azimuth and altitude. This will make it easy when you have changing loads and you want to observe with different sized telescopes simultaneously.

Do not compare this mount with smaller, lighter units. This massive alt azimuth mount has a 6" azimuth bearing surface, over-sized Teflon and stainless roller  bearings on each axis. Adjust tension on both axis and you simply  glide through the sky smoothly and stop completely when you arrive at the object. This mount must be experienced to be appreciated. No more pushing a mount that sticks or shoots past the object. Glide effortlessly  from one object to the next. This latest version has independent adjustment locks allowing you to vary the degree of tension even better. This mount is so smooth that slow motion controls are redundant. The Stableglide "disappears" when you use it. Counterweights and precise balancing  is not necessary.
